from IAM 2000 in Japan
Low level torque rolls,
rolling loops with snaps, water falls and lomcevaks were a common
sight as 9 of the best pilots demonstrated that a 2-metre plane
can do as well as TOC sized planes at this year's IAM. Toughest
maneuver this year is the Torque-Roll square, which some flyers
failed to perform satisfactory. Weather conditions were less than
ideal, and competitors flew only 4 rounds over 2 days.
The result showed the dominance of World Champion, Christophe
Paysant-Le Roux,
with him winning every round, with his popular model, 'Majestic',
by ZN
Line.
Fresh from winning this year's TOC, Christophe clearly rules the
precision aerobatic scene for powered aircraft. The 'Majestic' was
also flown by runner-up, Sean McMurtry. Both Naruke an d
Chip Hyde lost their aircraft prior to the competition. Naruke called
upon his '98 IAM aircraft, GR320, and Chip flew his own-designed
'Hyde Away'(not 'Hyde Out'). Apparently, the 'Hyde Away' has a different
wing section. Have a look at the various models flown by all the
pilots here.
