Information of Radio Modellers Singapore

Location:
The flying field is located at the Western end of Singapore, at the intersection of Tuas West Drive and Tuas Link. With referen
ce to the map(click to enlarge) on right, it is within a few kilometers of Singapore's 2nd Link to Malaysia, and accessible by both the Pan-Island Expressway and Ayer Rajah Expressway.

Directions:
Self Drive: Go onto the Pan-Island Expressway or Ayer Rajah Expressway, heading in the direction of Tuas/Jurong. Turn off into Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, then into Tuas West Road. Once on Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim, it is safer to keep left, as if one misses the turning, the Singapore-Malaysia checkpoint will be next! Turning onto Tuas West Road, one will pass a bus interchange. 500m down, the field is on the right, opposite the 'Raffles Marina', and along side 'Super Coffee Factory'. Refer to map below.

Taxi: Tell the driver "Tuas West Road, opposite the Raffles Marina, near the Tuas Checkpoint". This should be sufficient to bring you near to the field. Just keep a look out for the field or planes in the air. A Taxi ride from the city on weekends will put you back around Sin$15.

Other forms of Public Transport: Take the MRT, and alight at Boon Lay(W12). One can opt to transfer to a bus, service No.192 or 193. However, it would be advisable if one transfers to a Taxi instead, due to the location of the field. Cost of Taxi ride, around Sin$5.

Field Operations:
The club is only allowed to operate on Saturday(3p.m. onwards) and Sunday(Full-day). This is due to the close proximity of an Air Force Base. Refer to the map on left for an enlarged picture of the Flying Field.

There is sufficient parking area within the perimeter
of the field. Also, the pit area is covered, with stands for flyers to set up their models. However, there is no toilet at the field. The nearest would be at the Marina, or in the bushes.

The frequency used in Singapore ranges from 27Mhz-30Mhz. All other frequencies are deemed illegal. A license is required by the club from the Telecommunication Authority of Singapore, before any flyer can join RMS.

A wide variety of flyers can be found at the club, ranging from Sportsman, to F3A, to Scale. Modellers are generally helpful when a fellow modeller requires assistance.

Contact Information:
If you are visiting Singapore and would like to know more about the club or the R/C scene, you can contact the following:
