Old planes replicas craftsmanship was at top level as with the flight quality of these nice indoor vintage planes. Most of these planes were subject of articles in RCM, such as the Flying Torpedo and the Farman MF11 Bis 1915 by Giovanni Zamparo (RCM March 2000). Christophe Paysant-Le Roux was there as well. You will see that the Indoor models are capable of stunts. They are also very fast to build and simple; Christophe finished a plane during the Meeting. It was amazing to see the use of high-tech Futaba Radio 9ZAP WCII used alongside such a simple plane design. During the contest Christophe was nice to help everyone, answering questions but also physically helping others(Setting the Brand new YS91 on bench.. Etc..) Lunch
was offered to the pilots by ZN
Line. The atmosphere was nice and friendly. I had the
chance to have lunch with Christophe
/ Pascal Novik and Laurent Michelet Chief Editor of RCM Magazine. Of course
the conversation was more than interesting, discussing about what happened
at TOC and IAM.
For IAM I learned W. Matt
did not use the Smaragd because weight was more than 5kg, and the plane
was rejected. The discussion was....very interesting as it was fascinating.-
